Olympic gymnast Kerri Strug can now add a new title to her list of accolades: Mom.
Strug, who rose to international fame when she won a gold medal in the 1996 Olympic Games, welcomed a son, Tyler William Fischer, on March 1.
Tyler weighted 7lbs and 1oz at birth, which is notable considering the fact that his mother is only four feet and ten inches tall.

‘For me, he was large!’ she told People Magazine. .
Tyler is the first child for the 34-year-old athlete and her husband, attorney Robert Fischer III, whom she married in April of 2010.

Strug’s victory in Atlanta as part of the ‘Magnificent 7’ team won the hearts of viewers the world over after she scored 9.712 on a vault despite having a sprained ankle with tendon damage.
The gymnast’s moment of triumph was immortalized in the most enduring image from the Atlanta Games, which shows her coach, Bela Karolyi, carrying Strug up to the podium to receive her hard-earned gold medal.
Strug, who retired from gymnastics shortly after he victory, will travel to London for the summer Olympic Games as part of Hilton HHonors Support the Dream, where fans can send their good wishes directly to members of Team USA.
It remains unknown whether baby Tyler will accompany his mother on her trip to the U.K.
