Mum left terrified by her vacuum cleaner which starts up on its own

Publish date: 2024-06-30

A mum has been left 'slightly terrified' by her seemingly possessed stick vacuum which has started to turn itself off and on.

The Australian mum posted a video of the vacuum - asking others for help - and the answers are hilarious, asking the woman to call in a priest and to sage her home.

'I have this Kmart stick vacuum, it’s about six months old, and has a mind of its own,' she said.

'Salt and burn it, it is possessed,' said one mum.

'Burn the house down, you have no choice now,' another said.

'Call in an exorcist,' suggested another.

The ghost theory appeared to be the most popular among the group of entertained mums.

'It's definitely not a male ghost,' said another.

'Don't stop the spirits from helping,' said another.

One mum said she has the same problem with her vacuum - but it no longer creeps her out.

'My vax stick does this, used to scare the s**t outta me, now I just yell at it and say well whoever’s turning it on may as well do the vacuuming while your at it.'

The original poster appeared to take all of the good-natured jokes in her stride.

'Thank you for confirming my suspicions! I’ll approach different priests tomorrow to cleanse my house,' she said.

Others took a serious view on the situation.

'Imagine if it went off in the middle of the night, that is creepy. Poor kids might get scared too,' one worried mum said.

'Let it go until the battery dies and then charge it - sometimes it is just a glitch,' one mum suggested.

Daily Mail Australia has approached Kmart for comment.
